Vernon is a small neighborhood in Northeast Portland bordered by King to the west, Sabin to the south, Condordia to the east and Woodlawn to the north. It is located between NE 10th Ave and NE 22nd Ave from west to east and between NE Wygant St and NE Ainsworth St from south to north. It has a park inside the neighborhood called Alberta Park. Vernon is a neighborhood with a mix of residential and commercial areas. NE Alberta St, which is part of the Alberta Arts District has many vibrant businesses including Community Cycling Center, Salt & Straw, Barista coffee shop, and Dalo’s Ethiopian Kitchen. There is a strong sense of community in Vernon with an active neighborhood association Vernon Neighborhood Association that is hosting events for its residents for a variety of fun and neighborhood related issues. Overall, Vernon is a nice and peaceful neighborhood in Inner NE Portland with low amount of crimes. Drive to Downtown Portland only takes 13 minutes and the neighborhood itself provides lots of amenities.
