Woodlawn is a neighborhood in Northeast Portland, bordering Sunderland on the north, Condordia on the east, King and Vernon on the south, and Piedmont on the west. It’s a nice and quiet neighborhood that has Woodlawn Park on NE Dekum Street featuring Woodlawn Park Amphitheatre, a water feature and a basketball court. Woodland Park is where expression of culture and art is encouraged. Portlandia’s Season 2 Star Trek was filmed at Woodlawn Park Amphitheatre. Woodlawn Park Dekum St. has many bars, breweries, and restaurants. Notable establishments on Dekum include Breakside Brewery, The Oregon Public House and Firehouse wood-fired pizza restaurant. On the east part of Dekum in Woodlawn, you will see many churches and markets.
In the center of Woodlawn neighborhood across from Woodlawn City Park is a residential area known as Dekum Triangle where the block is tilted in 45 degree angle, creating a triangular shaped block in the middle of square shaped block where lots of people are seen walking and biking around the area. Lots of business are coming into this area and Woodlawn is on its way to grow into more of a substantial mixed retail/residential neighborhood. The neighborhood is starting to attract investors mainly due to this trend of development.
