East Columbia is a neighborhood in North Portland, bordering Kento to the west, Sunderland to the west, Bridgeton to the north, and Piedmont to the south. It is located in the corner of Columbia Slough, which separates the neighborhood from Sunderland. The neighborhood has Columbia Children’s Aboretum, which is a charming park that provides nice walking trails with lots of birds.
East Columbia is a very unique neighborhood due to its wetlands, open space and drainage ways combined with residential, industrial, and agricultural uses. East Columbia is surrounded by three golf courses and bordered on the north by the Columbia River. East Columbia residents have an easy access to the water at the Columbia River.
All the homes here in this neighborhood is west of Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and north of NE Fazio Way and NE Gerts Rd. Homes tend to get nicer and more expensive closer you are to Columbia Edgewater Country Club. There are also 15 beautiful waterfront houses each with a boat launching deck north of the country club by the Columbia River. Other homes are bigger suburb style homes on bigger lots. You can also find smaller and more modest homes in this neighborhood but not by the golf course. Home values in East Columbia have been surging along with home prices in other Portland neighborhoods.
