Piedmont is a neighborhood in North Portland next to a few Northeast Portland neighborhoods. Piedmont neighborhood is bordered by Arbor Lodge to the west, East Columbia to the north, Humboldt and King to the south and Woodlawn to the east. The neighborhood is adjacent to I-5 on its western border and NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd (Hwy 99E) on the eastern border. Piedmont’s southern border is N Ainsworth St and the northern border is N Columbia Blvd. It has two parks including Farragut City Park and Peninsula City Park, which is an amazing park featuring a stunning rose garden with a pagoda, basketball courts, a water fountain, baseball field, playgrounds and picnic areas with tall mature trees. The park also has the Peninsula Community Center and Pool consisting of two pools and two gyms in a beautiful Italian villa style building.
Piedmont is a nice residential neighborhood with an easy access to Downtown Portland and to other Northeast Portland neighborhoods. It is a neighborhood that has been transforming with people moving into the area. Homes are being renovated, businesses are popping up, developments are taking place in the neighborhood including New Seasons Market. Piedmont residents also have access to MAX line, which is only a few blocks west into Arbor Lodge neighborhood.
Most businesses in Piedmont are concentrated on N Lombard St. and NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. You are only a few blocks away from N Killingsworth St by PCC in Humboldt neighborhood where there is a lot of entertainment. You are also close to the Columbia River for any water related outdoor activities.
