Portsmouth is a neighborhood in North Portland bordered by St. Johns to the north, Kenton to the east and south, and University Park to the west. Portsmouth neighborhood is located between N Lombard St. and N Columbia Blvd from the railroad track on the western boundary to N Chautauqua Blvd. Portsmouth has Northgate Park, McCoy Park, New Columbia Bicycle Skills Park, and the popular Columbia Park. Columbia Park is a very nice park on a 35-acre land offering baseball, softball, soccer fields with tennis courts, volleyball court, horseshoe pit, swimming indoor pool, wading pool, playground, trails and lots of picnic areas. The neighborhood is served by Portsmouth Middle School and two elementary schools.
Portsmouth residents enjoy all the amenities including shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, bars and more on N Lombard St, which is shared by University Park. Popular joints on N Lombard St on Portsmouth side include Bagel & Box and Sundown Pub. The neighborhood is also a quick drive from Jantzen Beach for shopping and Portland International Raceway and Heron Lakes Golf Club for opposite ends of entertainment.
Portsmouth neighborhood has been facing an influx of residents moving in due to Portland inner neighborhoods’ housing prices increasing dramatically.
