Mt. Scott-Arleta is a neighborhood in Southeast Portland, bordering Foster-Powell to the north, Woodstock to the west, Lents on the east, and Brentwood-Darlington on the south. This neighborhood is located between SE 60th Ave and SE 82nd Ave from SE Duke St to SE Foster Rd. Mt. Scott-Arleta has a park called Mr. Scott Park with Mt Scott Community Center that has an indoor pool with a water slide, new exercise equipment and a roller skating rink.
Mt. Scott-Arleta is a nice, family-friendly neighborhood. It is a suburb that is popular among young families and singles in their 20s and 30s. There is a lot of locally owned shops including cafes, bakeries, bars and other small businesses that make this neighborhood desirable. Most of them are on SE 72nd between SE Harold St and SE Woodstock Blvd. One notable spot is Arleta Library Bakery Cafe, which is a hip restaurant that serves southern style foods.
The residential areas feature lots of beautiful older homes on tree-lined streets. Homes here are mostly craftsman, bungalow and colonial. Streets are quiet and the neighborhood is overall very safe. Living here is convenient and provides accessibility to other parts of Portland.
