Reed is a Southeast Portland neighborhood located directly above the Reed College campus. This small neighborhood is bordered by Eastmoreland to the south, Brooklyn to the west, Creston-Kenilworth to the north, and Woodstock to the east. The neighborhood is between the railroads and SE 39th Ave between the Reed College campus to SE Holgate Blvd.
Reed neighborhood is home to a lot of Reed college students as about 65% of the population here are renting. Once this area was the site of Lambert Gardens, but was replaced by housing in 1968. Reed has Trader Joe’s located on SE 39th Ave and Gigantic Brewing, a popular local brewery. It is a safe and peaceful residential neighborhood that accommodates lots of nice single family residence homes with nice apartment buildings that cater to Reed student population.
