Woodstock is a neighborhood in Southeast Portland bordered by Eastmoreland to the west, Creston-Kenilworth to the north, Mt. Scott-Arleta and Brentwood/Darlington to the east. Woodstock neighborhood is located between SE 39th Ave and SE 60th Ave and its northern border is SE Holgate Blvd. The southern boundary is irregular. One third of the southern border on the western side goes clear down to Johnson Creek whereas the two thirds on the eastern side borders SE Henry St and SE Duke St.
Woodstock neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Portland as it was first platted in 1889. You will still homes built as early as the 1880s located in the northern part of the neighborhood. The neighborhood enjoys having Woodstock City Park and the business district on SE Woodstock Blvd where you can find New Seasons Market, restaurants, bars and coffee shops. The commercial district in Woodstock centers around New Seasons Market and it stretches about four to five blocks on SE Woodstock Blvd. It feels very comfortable like a small town and is walkable.
This neighborhood is mostly residential and very family-friendly. You will see a lot of families out on the street walking dogs and pushing baby strollers not only on the commercial area but on residential streets. Most homes here are single detached homes in styles of bungalows, Old Portland Foursquares, Tudor, and Colonial. There are also multi-unit residential homes located near Woodstock Blvd. There are three schools here in Woodstock including Woodstock Elementary School, Lewis Elementary School, and Our Lady of Sorrows Elementary School.
